Who Are We?
The Renters Helpline is a Non-Profit Organization dedicated to educating tenants on their rights and responsibilities and offer tenant-landlord dispute resolution. Renters Helpline has contracted with Sacramento County and the cities of Sacramento (through SHRA), Elk Grove, Rancho Cordova, Folsom, and Citrus Heights to provide a FREE telephone and internet-based “Renter’s Helpline” to counsel, educate and provide fair housing services for residents. We are affiliated with Project Sentinel, and Legal Services of Northern California (LSNC) to focus on tenant education to reduce housing discrimination, promote public awareness of fair housing laws and rights and assist persons with disabilities. Our Fair housing concerns will be directed to Project Sentinel, or LSNC. We provide these services free of charge and in over 240 languages and dialects to tenants. All persons will receive assistance regardless of their immigration status or income levels.
